Van Robotics announces partnership with BE GREAT Academy to increase STEM involvement for all students

Van Robotics announces a new partnership with the BE GREAT Academy (BGA).  BGA is the after school, before school and summer camp program of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Crescent Region. Their mission is to “enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.”

With support from an Innovation Grant award by the South Carolina Department of Education, Van Robotics launched the flagship Classroom to Career (C2C) program to promote STEM interest in underrepresented K-12 students and create strong peer-to-peer STEM ecosystems within communities. Throughout the 9-week curriculum, students learn the fundamentals of robotics and artificial intelligence, discover broad-ranging, present-day applications of robotics and AI across many industries and build their very own AI-enabled ABii robot.

The BGA has youth development programs across the state of South Carolina and 23 of these BGA sites will be welcoming 75 ABii robots built by their own SC middle and high school peers. ABii will be used to help promote engagement and proficiency in math, reading and social emotional skills growth. This year alone, 545 elementary schools students will have the opportunity to participate in the program.
